Andrea Marcinkus, owner of Adhara Alchemy, is a passionate herbalist, naturalist, intuitive healer, and experienced forager.  With over 35 years of dedicated study and practice, Andrea has cultivated a deep connection with plant spirit medicine and the healing potential of our botanical and fungal allies.

 

She studied at a young age with her grandfather and deepened her knowledge through study with practiced herbalists and indigenous healers.  Based in the western Chicagoland area, she offers an array of transformative services.  These include intuitive healing and plant spirit healing sessions that incorporate shamanic practices, horse medicine healing sessions, personalized meditation guidance, Reiki sessions for humans and animals (specializing in equine reiki), cacao ceremonies, and sound healing. ​ Andrea has also studied meditation for over 25 years, and is a certified Meditation Teacher through the Priority Academy and the Complementary Therapists Accredited Association. Andrea is a Usui Ryoho Reiki practitioner at the Master-Teacher Shinpiden level, with a specialization in animal reiki services.

 

Drawing on her extensive knowledge of wild plants and mushrooms, Andrea infuses her herbalism practice with the wisdom of the natural world, offering personalized guidance on incorporating wild foods and medical plants into everyday life.  Andrea empowers individuals to reconnect with the healing power of plants and fungi, and unlock the benefits of the natural world.

Adhara is a bright star in the Northern Hemisphere constellation Canis Major.  It is a binary star, shining with some visible light, but it is the brightest source of ultraviolet light when seen from Earth's sky.  Symbolically, Adhara is the star which can connect our violet crown chakra to the universe. At the same time, adhara is a Sanskrit word meaning "base" or "foundation," and is a component of word for the root chakra, Muladhara. Adhara is symbolically a connection to both earth and sky, grounding and spirit.
